How someone can still be so enthusiastic, after 33 years in the profession, is usually what people ask after meeting Tony for the first time.

He’s worked for some of the biggest names in the business on promotional campaigns, issues management, internal comms and lobbying exercises.

And we’re talking companies and organisations such as Ray-Ban, KLM, Ford, Ernst & Young, Electrolux, One NorthEast and the EU.

Away from his day job, he’s been national President of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, is Chairman of the programme advisory panel at The University of Sunderland for its PR degree courses and the first European to be elected International Delegate at Large for the Public Relations Society of America.

When he’s not globetrotting or fighting fires, Tony likes nothing better than mentoring young entrants into the industry or helping clients with their complex multi-stakeholder communications requirements.

Even now, he is still often seen outside newsagents at the crack of dawn eagerly waiting to see his stories in print.
